Director Christopher Nolan drains most of the color Gotham, a city that no longer resembles the dystopia of his earlier "Batman Begins," and replaces it with the darkest of grays and blues. While the shantytowns that populated that grim film are gone, the only slightly disguised Chicago skyline hardly suggests prosperity and incorruptibility.
